Abstract
Roy-Camile was first described the concept of posterior lateral mass screw fixation in 1979. Since then, lateral mass screw fixation has been used increasingly used instead of traditional wire fixation. This technique is relatively safe and easy, but there were 2-5% rates of nerve root injury or new arm pain after lateral mass screw fixation. New arm pain caused almost by wrong position of screw or facet joint violation. However, lateral mass fracture during insertion of screw could induce cervical radiculopathy. We report an unusual cause of new arm pain after lateral mass screw fixation in elderly patient.
