Abstract
Objective
To investigate the risk factors of subdural hematoma (SDH) after ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt in patients with idiopathic normal pressure NPH (iNPH).
Methods
Forty one patients with iNPH were reviewed from January 2003 to December 2012 at a single institution.
Results
Seven (17.1%) patients had SDH. Male gender was only a statistically significant risk factor of SDH (p=0.048). Other variables Conclusion
Male gender may be a predictable factor of SDH after shunt surgery in iNPH.
Key Words: Normal pressure hydrocephalusㆍSubdural hematomaㆍVentriculoperitoneal shunt
