Abstract |
Clipping of the neck of an aneurysm is generally considered the best choice of treatment for aaneurysm. However, when the clipping is not technically feasible, for example, the aneurismal neck has thick atheromatous plaque or the aneurismal dome is too small to be clipped, reinforcement of the aneurismal wall is the next choice to prevent rupture of aneurysm or regrowth. Neurosurgeons will confront a higher percentage of dysplastic, fusiform, blister, and otherwise unclippable aneurysms. Treatment of these aneurysms requires alternative modalities such as extracranialintracranial (EC-IC) bypass, wrapping, or clip-wrapping. However, few reports are available on the long-term safety and angiographic durability of aneurysm wrapping.Other study stated that the wrapping as a choice of treatment of ruptured aneurysm is not a safe alternative to the direct operative occlusion of the aneurismal sac. Our case was regrowth cerebral aneurysm after wrapping. Initially aneurysmal sac was very small so that wrapping was performed. But follow-up cerebral angiography showed regrowthof the aneurysm. Eventually clipping was performed. We describe surgical clipping for regrowth cerebral aneurysm after wrapping. |
